Pre-Acceptance Survey

The "Pre-Acceptance Survey" is like the "Pre-Purchase Survey," in that it is contracted and performed prior to closing on a vessel purchase. Like the "Pre-Purchase Survey," it is a derivative that falls under the umbrella of "Condition and Valuation Survey." The key difference is that the "Pre-Acceptance Survey" in performed on new vessels, which are under contract and have been recently completed and are awaiting owner-acceptance for inaugural commissioning.   Contrary to popular belief, new vessels are often more flawed than recently commissioned used ones; and so, Capital Marine Surveying, LLC highly recommends having your new purchase surveyed before exchanging the balance of funds—at which point there is neither incentive nor reason for dealers, brokers, and manufacturers to address incumbent issues in a timely manner. Our C&V Pre-Acceptance Surveys are billed on a per-foot basis, starting at $35/ft., with modifiers for vessel size, complexity, and age. All pre-purchase surveys include our next-day Educational Video Debrief to help our buyers determine, "should I buy this boat?"
